train was created as a way of joining the Sixth Ave subway with the Broadway / Jamaica el. This connection was possible as a result of the Chrystie street connection. This allowed the IND tracks to merge with the BMT and vice versa beginning on 7/1/1968. The
service went from 57st / Sixth Ave to 168 st, Jamaica. On 1/2/1973, the
was renamed
and went from 57st / Sixth to Eastern Parkway. The Jamaica el ceased operations north of Queens Blvd to make way for the new Archer Ave extension many years later. The
discontinued service on 8/27/1976.
